During the dark days of the pandemic lockdowns, Nigel Kavanagh hosted a bunch of online whiskey events to help entertain friends from around the country. As lockdowns eased, John Lynch asked Nigel to host in-person events around Gorey and together they both held private events during 2022 and 2023. John Robinson attended one of those events and his industry knowledge helped elevate the events.

We took a big step forward in 2024 by hosting public events. During 2024, we held  five in-person events and three virtual events. Over a hundred tickets were sold across our five in-person events and feedback has been really positive. We're looking forward to hosting more events during 2025 (and beyond...)

We're delighted to now offer events to the general public and very much enjoyed hosting distillery experts in Gorey as well as bringing our own events to the town.  Our membership page is now open and we're inviting new members for 2025.​

The Gorey Whiskey Club team is:​

Nigel Kavanagh - from Gorey, Nigel is an enthusiastic amateur whiskey aficionado and tends to prefer Irish whiskeys. These days, he likes a bit of sherry influence in his drinks.

John Robinson - originally from Canada but now calling Gorey home, John is an industry professional who has worked with alcohol for almost two decades. John likes world whiskeys but he's become a ambassador to Irish whiskey with relative ease.
