We were delighted to welcome Darragh from Lough Ree distillery to Gorey on Thursday 20 November. We were indoors in Browne's Lounge for this sold-out event. For many of the attendees, it was their first introduction to this distillery and many new fans were created that evening.

Darragh showcased the distillery's Bart's range - their standard whiskeys - and their Bridge range - their single cask whiskeys. The Bart's range went down exceptionally well. The attendees loved the clarity of the range, the quality of the spirit and the price point - very good value all round.

For me, the stars of the show were the Bridge single cask releases. I especially loved the Portaneena expression - a fifteen-year old whiskey partly matured in both Amontillado and Pedro Ximénez casks. It's a cracker.

Darragh did a great job in showcasing the Lough Ree range and there are many bottles of Bart's and the Bridge range being enjoyed around Gorey since the tasting!
