The Irish Whiskey Awards 2026
We were delighted to be asked to be part of the judging panel for the Irish Whiskey Awards 2026. This is a very prestigious set of awards that are very highly respected in the Irish whiskey community.
The judging is "double blind" - not only are the expressions kept secret, but so are the categories. In other words, we have no idea if we're tasting a 20-year old Single Malt or a budget 3-year old whiskey.
While we take the judging very seriously, it's an enormously enjoyable and satisfying event for around 15 club members.
For this event, we had 31 samples to work through, giving each a rating from 0-100 across four key categories.
Our scores are submitted to the team at the Celtic Whiskey Shop and we can't wait to celebrate the winners at the award ceremony in November.
